EPIC COACHING

OUR COACHING MODEL IS EPIC

Working with schools throughout New Zealand, ImpactEd quickly realised the need for teachers and leaders to be supported and empowered through change.

Our focus on tailored, sustainable learning frameworks led us to designing a coaching framework for schools to utilise in their conversations around goal setting and continuous improvement. And it’s EPIC. Yes, that’s what it’s called (and it’s also epic).

EPIC: Engage, Plan, Implement, Check-in

The implementation of EPIC coaching means teachers are motivated, engaged, and supported to attain their goals. The EPIC framework is based on the Science of Learning principles and designed in a way that enhances wellbeing, performance, and professional relationships.

The process is tangible and specific, allowing for the gathering of data and for decisions to be made based on evidence. Importantly, EPIC conversations lead kaiako to become more reflective of their teaching practice, the value placed on individualised learning empowers them to adapt and grow.

What do teachers say about EPIC?

We implemented EPIC with Waimairi Iri Kāhui Ako leads Cain and Haley, here’s what they had to say:

“EPIC is a fantastic coaching model that empowers and grows teacher leadership capabilities.”—Cain

“The scaffolded EPIC coaching model prepared me to mentor and support teachers in the digital space.”— Haley
